La hidrodinámica permite estudiar la relación entre la trayectoria parabólica, el contorno de salida y la velocidad de salida en la descarga horizontal de orificios.
Con el HM 150.09 se estudia y visualiza el perfil de un chorro de agua. Además, puede determinarse el coeficiente de descarga como característica de los distintos contornos. El equipo de ensayo contiene un depósito transparente y un dispositivo palpador con escala para visualizar los cursos del chorro. Para estudiar distintos orificios se instala un inserto intercambiable en la salida de agua del depósito. En el volumen de suministro se incluyen cuatro insertos con diámetros y contornos diferentes.
Al visualizar la trayectoria se registra el chorro de agua saliente a través de un dispositivo palpador, que consta de varillas móviles. Las varillas se colocan en función del perfil del chorro de agua. Mediante la escala se puede determinar la trayectoria.
El depósito contiene un rebosadero ajustable y una escala. De este modo, es posible un ajuste y una lectura precisos del nivel. El equipo de ensayo se coloca de forma sencilla y segura sobre la superficie de trabajo del módulo básico HM 150. El suministro de agua y la medición del caudal se realizan a través del HM 150. Como alternativa, el equipo de ensayo también se puede conectar a la red del laboratorio.
Para analizar virtualmente el comportamiento de los flujos, se utilizan en la práctica las simulaciones CFD. Estas permiten, por ejemplo, visualizar el flujo en áreas que no pueden hacerse visibles en los ensayos. En el GUNT Media Center están disponibles en línea visualizaciones del flujo basadas en cálculos CFD. Como material didáctico multimedia adicional, los cursos de E-Learning enseñan conocimientos básicos y cálculos. Los videos muestran un ensayo completo con preparación, ejecución y evaluación.
