En el transporte de calor real entre dos cuerpos, la transferencia de calor suele tener lugar simultáneamente mediante el transporte sujeto a la presencia de materia, es decir, convección o conducción de calor, y el transporte no sujeto a la presencia de materia, es decir, radiación. Es difícil determinar las distintas cantidades de calor de un tipo de transferencia.
Con el banco de ensayos WL 377 es posible determinar las distintas cantidades de calor del tipo de transferencia. El elemento central es un cilindro de metal en un depósito a presión. La temperatura superficial del cilindro metálico calentado es regulada. Unos sensores de temperatura miden la temperatura superficial del cilindro metálico y la temperatura de la pared del depósito a presión. Junto con la potencia calorífica del cilindro metálico es posible estudiar el transporte de calor del cilindro metálico hacia la pared del depósito a presión.
El depósito a presión puede someterse a vacío o sobrepresión. En vacío, el transporte de calor se produce principalmente por radiación. Cuando el depósito está lleno de gas y bajo sobrepresión, el calor se transmite también por convección. Es posible comparar la transferencia de calor en distintos gases. Además del aire, se pueden utilizar, p.ej. nitrógeno, helio o dióxido de carbono.
Gracias a una suspensión apropiada del cilindro metálico se suprime casi por completo el transporte de calor vía conducción de calor.
Una bomba rotativa de paletas genera sobrepresiones de hasta aprox. 0,02mbar. Se puede generar una sobrepresión de hasta aprox. 1bar con aire comprimido. Para la medición de la presión existen dos sensores de presión con rangos de medición apropiados: la depresión se registra con un sensor Pirani y la sobrepresión con un sensor piezorresistivo.
Los valores medidos se pueden leer en displays. Los valores se pueden almacenar y procesar con ayuda del software para la adquisición de datos adjuntado. La transferencia al PC se realiza a través de una interfaz USB.
