En la ingeniería de edificación se utilizan instalaciones de ventilación en tiendas comerciales, hospitales, restaurantes o salas de reuniones para asegurar el cambio de aire necesario en cada una de las salas. El aire es calentado o enfriado por un cambiador de calor.
HL 720 muestra el funcionamiento de una instalación de ventilación y sus componentes. Los componentes utilizados son habituales en la ingeniería de ventilación comercial y por ello ofrecen una gran orientación a la práctica. La instalación de ventilación es utilizada como instalación de aire adicional.
El aire entra por una rejilla de protección contra la intemperie y fluye a través de los componentes de la instalación de ventilación, tales como la chapaleta de persiana y el filtro. Un ventilador se encarga del transporte del aire. En el recorrido del conducto de aire están montados componentes típicos, tales como bastidores de aislamiento sonoro, chapaleta de revisión, diversas salidas de aire y una válvula antiincendios.
Las mirillas posibilitan la vista hacia los bastidores de aislamiento sonoro, filtros, ventilador y chapaleta de persiana. La función original de los componentes no se pierde.
El registro de presiones y presiones diferenciales en puntos de medición relevantes permite la representación del desarrollo de la presión para toda la instalación. La potencia de accionamiento eléctrica del ventilador es medida. El caudal volumétrico de aire es determinado por medio de cálculo.
Para ensayos más avanzados, la regulación de temperatura de local en instalaciones de ventilación puede ser investigada junto con HL 722 y un generador externo de agua caliente. El cambiador de calor del HL 720 se conecta al HL 722 mediante acoplamientos rápidos.
