En la industria se utilizan diversos tipos de robinetería para fluidos tanto gaseosos como líquidos.
Entre ellas, se pueden distinguir la válvula, el grifo, la válvula de compuerta y la chapaleta. Los grifos cierran rápidamente una tubería, actuando en sentido transversal respecto a la dirección de flujo. Basta un cuarto de vuelta para realizar una actuación completa. Las válvulas regulan la dirección del flujo y necesitan varias vueltas del husillo hasta estar cerradas o abiertas por completo. Las chapaletas no están pensadas para estanqueizar por completo la tubería, sino que sirven sólo para estrangular el paso. Si se combina uno de estos dispositivos de cierre con un servoaccionamiento, se habla de un actuador.
El RT 395 presenta diferentes tipos de robinetería. Se estudia el comportamiento operativo de una válvula de sector de bola (que equivale al tipo “grifo”), de una chapaleta de cierre, de una válvula neumática de control y de una válvula de desahogo de presión. El armario de distribución ofrece las conexiones eléctricas y neumáticas necesarias para llevar a cabo la calibración y verificación de las robineterías. El armario de distribución también incluye displays que indican las presiones neumáticas, la tensión y la intensidad de la corriente. Para trabajos de mantenimiento y montaje se dispone de un tornillo de mordazas fijado al banco de trabajo. Además, el banco de trabajo incluye las herramientas y piezas pequeñas, por ejemplo juntas, necesarias.
