Los servosistemas son sistemas de regulación que convierten un pequeño movimiento mecánico en otro movimiento que requiere, comparativamente, más fuerza. Con el RT 710 se puede estudiar detalladamente el funcionamiento de un servosistema hidráulico. Un cilindro hidráulico mueve un carro con una masa de 50kg. Resortes adicionales y un amortiguador hidráulico regulable permiten la simulación de cargas estáticas y dinámicas. La posición del carro se registra mediante un potenciómetro de desplazamiento y se compara con la variable piloto. La desviación de la regulación es obtenida mediante un servoamplificador independiente. Dependiendo del signo de la desviación, se activa una válvula de control en avance o retorno, lo que a su vez tiene origina un movimiento correspondiente del cilindro hidráulico y del carro.
Todas las variables se pueden tomar también como señales de tensión. El software GUNT incluye, entre otras cosas un osciloscopio, un generador de fecuencia y un voltímetro. En el caso de procesos dinámicos se puede representar, por ejemplo, la señal de desplazamiento con el osciloscopio. Además, la variable piloto se puede aplicar vía el software al sistema en forma de una tensión. Esto permite que, con el generador de frecuencia, se pueden realizar ensayos dinámicos y registro del espectro frecuencial.
El banco de ensayos es móvil. En el armario inferior se pueden guardar instrumentos de medida.
