The ET 195 experimental plant is used to supply cold water for cooling various processes. The experimental plant has been specially developed for education in the field of refrigeration and practical work. In addition to operating and monitoring the plant, it is possible to carry out various maintenance tasks such as maintenance on the condenser, inspecting the filter dryer or checking/restoring the insulation.
The central element of the experimental plant is a compression refrigeration system that continuously extracts heat from a cooling circuit. The cooled water can be used either in stand-alone mode or for process cooling, e.g. in the ET 620 air conditioning and ventilation system or the pasteurisation process in CE 750.
A buffer tank in the cooling circuit serves as a storage medium and ensures that the water temperature remains stable. The desired temperature can be set precisely and monitored via integrated temperature sensors, ensuring that the target temperature is maintained exactly.
A control system regulates the operating modes of the plant in order to optimally adapt the cooling capacity to demand. For stand-alone operation, the cooling water can be directed through an integrated air cooler to absorb heat from the environment.
The plant is controlled by an integrated PLC with touch screen. The service levels of an industrial cooling plant are available. The experimental plant can alternatively be operated and controlled via a terminal device by means of an integrated router. The user interface can also be displayed on other terminals (screen mirroring). The measured values can be stored internally via the PLC. Students learn how to operate the PLC, including setting and monitoring process variables.
All main components comply with industrial standards and allow maintenance tasks to be carried out and documented in a practical manner. This includes visual inspections, functional and electrical checks, filling level checks and inspection of the filter dryer.
