The lever shear model forms part of the extensive GUNT course providing an introduction to technical drawing. The didactic approach involves teaching the systematic and transferable learning matter based on an operational mechanism.
The lever shear model can be considered to be a project enabling interdisciplinary, action-oriented teaching. In addition to the the primary subject area “technical drawing”, the topics machine elements, assembly processes and, in particular, manufacturing technology can also be covered.
TZ 200.07 presents a hand-operated lever shear which can be used to cut thin metal sheets.
All parts are precision-manufactured on CNC machines. The surfaces of the steel parts have a gunmetal finish to prevent corrosion.
Comprehensive and well-structured instructional material supports wide-ranging use of the model in technical training. Optimal learning is established when one model is used with two/three students.
The contemporary multimedia instructional materials are available online in the GUNT Media Center. The core element of the teaching materials is a complete set of drawings as files with list of parts, single-part drawings, exploded views, assembly drawings and 3D drawings. All drawings are to standard and are dimensioned in accordance with production requirements. The set of drawings consists of DXF files, STEP files and PDF files. The assembly video is also a useful feature.
