GUNT's potency includes custom tailored devices!

One of the latest GUNT development projects: MMTS is the abbreviation for Mechanical Maintenance Training Skid – a large practice-oriented training unit for the technical education in the area of process engineering.

This industrial scale training unit provides:

  • maintenance operations: electrical – mechanical – control components
  • understanding of a complex system with different process cycles
  • operation of the unit: manually or via the modern control system
  • perfect training with a group of students
  • getting acquainted with modern industrial components: pumps, heat exchanger, control systems etc.

Jubail Technical Institute (JTI) is one of the leading institutes in the field of technical training. The academic curriculum is designed to meet the industrial objectives keeping in mind the balance between knowledge and skills. Therefore, 80% of the curriculum is dedicated to the practical side while the theoretical side represents 20%. The GUNT training unit MMTS matches the requirements of this academic curriculum and fits perfectly into the educational concept of JTI. After the successful commissioning in June 2016, the laboratory staff was trained by GUNT engineers. Staff, students and the head of the department are enthusiastic about this training unit.

One of the largest experimental flumes by GUNT with a length of 16m and a cross section of 600mm x 800mm!

This experimental flume is made for teaching purposes as well as for research. The flume operates either self-contained in a closed water circuit with water tanks and pumps (430m3/h) or the water system of the laboratory supplies the flume (1080m3/h).

Features:

  • sediment transport with continuous recirculation
  • automated system with computer-aided measurement instrumentation
  • inclination of the experimental flume can be finely adjusted
